Michail Surabov, Russian Minister for Health, pays surprise visit to Cadolto in Cadolzburg

Cadolto, the specialists for prefabricated construction, will create a total of seven specialized clinics in Russia by the end of 2008. The outline contract signed with Moscow-based state enterprise TECHNOINTORG on March 6 was announced on the occasion of a visit by Russian Minister for Health Michail Surabov to the Cadolto headquarters in Cadolzburg near Nuremberg.

At a quickly-arranged meeting attended by Günter Gabsteiger, Member of the Regional Parliament, and Bernd Obst , mayor of Cadolzburg, the minister was able to learn for himself about the status of the latest project, which with a volume of some Euro 200 million and a total gross floor space of around 135,000m² is the biggest-ever project in the modular construction sector anywhere in the world    He was also present at the signing of the fourth contract for delivery for the individual Krasnodar Traumatology project.

An overview of the clinics ordered:

4 centers for Cardiosurgery in Penza, Chabarovsk, Astrachan and Krasnoyarsk
2 centers for Traumatology in Krasnodar and Cheboksary
1 center for Neurology in Tyumen.

Cadolto’s managing director Gerhard Flohr conducted Michail Surabov through the Cadolzburg factory, where all the elements involved are put together using proven construction methods and independently of the weather to produce complete room modules. The Minister watched the production of the steel framework of the first module of the Cardiosurgery clinic in Penza.
In a short speech Surabov stressed that the government was always looking for partners such as Cadolto and held the company in great esteem.
Cadolto’s rational modular construction method was contributing to a rapid improvement in medical care for the Russian population.

Cadolto is taking the following measures to fulfil its objectives:

> Expansion of the locations Cadolzburg and Krölpa/Thuringia
> Increasing the hall production areas of joint-venture partner PREKONS/Ankara by more than 10,000 m²
> Increasing the workforce
> Extensive subcontracting
> Precisely coordinated land and sea transport of the modules, each weighing between 30 and 35 t, to their destinations in Russia, some of them several thousand kilometers away (depending on distance transport takes around four to eight weeks)

Following the Russian government’s intensive international search for partners, Cadolto emerged as the only company which could be trusted to meet all specifications of time, cost and quality. This provides clear confirmation of Cadolto’s role as market leader. Cadolto’s future on the East European and Russian clinic construction sector looks extremely rosy.
Despite a very full schedule, the minister made time for friendly gestures.  As he ate a snack in the company bistro and noticed a photo of the famous border checkpoint Checkpoint Charly, produced by Cadolto, he commented: “We used to put buildings on border to check travelers. Today we build hospitals to help people and keep them healthy.”

Cadolto prefabricated buildings. hospitals, homes for the elderly, care homes, laboratories, clean rooms.
