Cadolto constructs a new office building at Munich Airport
Groundbreaking ceremony on Nordallee – as the first offices near completion in Cadolto’s factory.
Cadolzburg, 19.02.2018 ---- The groundbreaking ceremony for the foundations of a new office building at Munich Airport took place on 9 February 2018. Cadolto was awarded the contract to design and construct an administration building for 240 staff of the Real Estate division of Flughafen München GmbH (FMG) on 17 October 2017.
A three-storey U-shaped building with a gross floor area of 6,840 m² will be installed on the 7,600 m² site. The administration building, 65 metres long, 60 metres wide and 12 metres high, will be constructed in modular form.
It will contain both conventional 1 and 2-person offices as well as open-plan offices. Large sections of the offices will have glass partition walls. In addition to the necessary facilities rooms, reasonably large meeting and conference rooms are also planned.
The design work began immediately after award of the contract. Now that the groundbreaking ceremony has been held, work on the foundations is beginning, while the room modules are already being fabricated at Cadolto’s factory. The first of a total of 106 modules are expected to be delivered to the airport at the end of February. They will then be installed in three phases.
Michael Schäffler, a member of the Cadolto management team, was thus able to say to the future users in his speech: “I have already been inside your offices this week. We are on schedule and they look very good.”
